Turning challenges into opportunities
Empower yourself so you can empower your family.
A bit about me, Marc.
I studied a BA, BA Honours, and MA at Rhodes University, followed by a Masters of Education in Developmental Psychology in Education at Wits University. I taught at Rhodes University; at 11 schools across Northampton, New Zealand, Durban, Johannesburg, Grahamstown and Cape Town; and spent 18 years as school head of two co-ed schools.
In 2014, I published a book on educational themes tailored for parents, my first official foray into parent coaching. I’ve experienced first-hand the trials and triumphs of parenting my own teens, whilst gaining an “outsider's perspective” from the 1000s of families I’ve met through my academic career.
I am also a qualified and accredited mediator with the Mediation Society of South Africa, with formal training in family mediation and court ready parenting plans. For a family navigating separation or ongoing conflict, mediation can provide a structured and neutral process.
I offer a calm approach that complements the legal process and works collaboratively with schools and other professionals.

All mediation and support services are conducted in accordance with recognised South African standards and ethical guidelines. Through decades of experience, qualified advice and structured mediation, 'Parenting You' can help you to understand and overcome the extraordinary pressures that you may be facing.
Empowering parents and supporting families.
My goal is to help every family turn challenges into opportunities. By supporting you as a parent, we’ll create a trusting and functional relationship with your family. I also provide articles and research to help you navigate the tricky years. Visit the BLOG for free resources.
